I keep trying to leave comments on your blog, but it doesn't work; What the heck? I can change the world without going outside? That's something I can do!
I wanted to come to your par-tay, but I didn't want to give you mono. :( So I slept instead...

And not just because we love Starbucks, but sometimes when you have a big name people pick on you just because of that.
thanks, Lori. It is important to be fair. Starbucks is one of the better coffee companies, however, there are many improvements that it can make. My concern with them is that sometimes they manipulate language in order to sound like they are doing more than they actually are. But as companies go, they are one of the more socially responsible. I do frequent them because of this, and avoid other coffeehouses because of their bad reps. My apologies if I was a bit unfair to them.
It's important to note though that Starbucks did not become a socially responsible corporation until it come under attack in the anti-globalization, anti-corporate America protests of the late 1990s. Since then it has done a lot to work on its image, but as is the case with most companies the change is mostly in terms of rhetoric rather than real change.
Wasn't pointing fingers at you, I know you are very intentional about what you put out there. I was referring to people in general, who like to use a big name to get big attention. That's not you at all, I know you are 100% for fairness, no matter who the company is, and that's why I wanted to send you the link.
